This gallery shows a few shots of the cityscape background environment visible in the "Penthouse" level of Stranglehold. I was responsible for creating a convincing, yet performance conscious city environment which was visible throughout the entire level, which took place in a modern glass penthouse apartment. I modeled several of the buildings and props, placed and arranged them around the cityscape background, and added lighting and atmosphere. Also, I created a convincing "moving traffic" material which consisted of cars moving in multiple directions to simulate actual car movement. Since the scene needed to perform well for gameplay, the material effect was just the trick to bring life to the background environment.
